PROGRAM

19 members, including 6 on Zoom, and visiting Rotarian Mike Neeley of New Brighton Mounds View Rotary, heard NFL official Jeff Seeman talk about his work. Seeman prepped in everything from high school to college and arena and European football before beginning his now 20 seasons in the NFL. He is a line judge, one of 119 NFL officials. Working Super Bowls 44 and 51 are his career highlights to date. Adjustments to COVID this past year were extensive: 84 COVID tests, isolation, and with empty stadiums a loss of energy during the games that affected players’ intensity, especially on defense. He’s impressed by the NFL’s efforts in the past several years to improve player safety, particularly to improve brain safety through rule changes.
