21 members and former member Dick Harris heard Jeff Lundgren of North Metro Pediatrics describe the Anoka County clinic describe its mission and functions, and Lee Carlson Center Executive Director Rob Edwards describe the Center's partnership with the clinic. North Metro Pediatrics is staffed by Nurse Practitioners and serves the insured with primary care and screenings.
 
Golf Classic  co-coordinator Bob Olsen announced that the July 19 event, the sixth in the series, netted a record $21,198. Pledges from a few additional donors may raise that total. Bob thanked all the members who contributed to its success.
 
President Josh Lund welcomed new member Dr. Kim Hiel, incoming superintendent of Fridley Public Schools, presenting her with her certificate, pin, badge, and information folder.
 
Secretary Bob Tholkes informed the club that the board had approved the membership application of Amada Marquez Simula of Columbia Heights, and moved that her membership be approved by the club unanimously, which was done. Ms. Marquez Simula will be inducted at next week's breakfast, when she is also scheduled to speak about Heights Next, the Columbia Heights community foundation which she heads.
 
President Lund announced that the next club board meeting will take place at Fridley City Hall on August 8, and invited members to attend. The board is at its recent customary strength of seven members, as Roy Goslin, longtime member and a past president, recently accepted Lund's invitation to join.
