PROGRAM 
 
No breakfast today due to tonight’s Charter Dinner at Banquets of Minnesota, 6310 Hw 65 NE: social hour begins at 5:30 with dinner at 7:00.  The dinner will feature Rotary District 5960 Governor Dayna Quigley and after-dinner musical entertainment by pianist Adam Davis.
 
ANNOUNCEMENTS
 
The Pollination Committee met on Tuesday, November 1, with members Amada Márquez Simula, Michael Oakley, Kristen Stuenkel, and Bob Tholkes attending. The proposed bench at the Lomianki Park pollination garden, next year’s Monarch Festival, the grant application from the Mississippi Watershed Management Organization, and an invitation to a speaker from the Arden Hills – Shoreview Rotary Club to attend a committee meeting to talk about its Rotary district pollination grant project were discussed.
 
The club board held a special meeting today in Room 116 at Fridley Community Center, 6085 7th Avenue NE and approved the following donations: $500.00- Hope 4 Youth, Lupus Foundation, Mom’s Haven of Hope, North Suburban Center for the Arts (formerly Banfill-Locke), Reel Hope Project. $250.00- Fridley Middle School 2023 Class Trip, Lee Carlson Center.
 
REMINDERS
 
A photo op is planned for 5:15 today at the new club-sponsored school safety sign near Fridley Middle School, 6100 W Moore Lake Dr, to which all members are invited.
 
President Kim Hiel this past week emailed to members this year’s Rotary Visioning Survey. Results will be offered at the November 9 breakfast.
 
Lunches with the Fridley STRIVE students are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. at the high school on Nov. 15, Nov. 30, and Dec. 13.  Additional mentors for the STRIVE students are sought. Contact Steve Klaers at 612-599-8103.

The club’s annual bellringing during the holiday season will again take place at Sam’s Club, 8150 University Avenue NE in Fridley, from 4-7 p.m. on the three Wednesdays in December before Christmas. A sign-up sheet for 1 ½ hour time blocks will be circulated. Contact Gordon Backlund at 612-296-0375 to participate.
 
Save The Date: the annual district 5960 conference is scheduled for April 29, 2023, a joint conference with District 5950 at Madden’s Golf Resort on Gull Lake in Brainerd.
