EVENTS
Bob Olsen, Bob Tholkes, and Kristen Stuenkel staffed an informational table at the “Flight of the Monarchs” documentary presentation at Huset Park in Columbia Heights on the evening of July 18. The club provided $500.00 towards the cost of the event. Olsen, who raises monarchs, brought two specimens as well as chrysalises and caterpillars, attracting many attendees to the table.

Kristen Stuenkel and Bob Tholkes attended the Columbia Heights Public Schools “Scaling The Heights” Meet and Greet with its new teaching staff yesterday from 9:15-9:45 a.m. in the Hylander Center. They chatted with about 20 new staffers about Rotary, the club, and the club’s interactions with the schools through the Dictionary Project, the STRIVE scholarship program, and Bikes for Kids.

The annual Charter Dinner last evening at Banquets of Minnesota in Fridley attracted 19 members, prospective member Brad Gudim, and 16 guests. Social Committee Scott Lund hosted, President Don Archibeque offered an eloquent welcome, and Tim Blank provided a thoughtful invocation before the gathering tucked into an excellent buffet dinner. Gudim, “MagicBrad” to the audiences he entertained during his years as a professional, highlighted the evening with a performance of one-liners and several of the tricks from his act, to repeated rounds of applause.
