No meeting on November 27 due to Thanksgiving.
Eighteen members, visiting Rotarian Mike Neeley of New Brighton-Mounds View Rotary, STRIVE faculty coordinators Jim Cummings (Fridley) and Scott Roehm (Columbia Heights), STRIVE students William Bunton and Brent Balla (Fridley) and Estrelle Ortiz, Jose Serrano, Ashley Avcapina, and Sandra Diaz (Columbia Heights), and Fridley High School Student Council secretary Grace Brant heard Norma Jean Falink, club Foundation Committeeperson, describe the Rotary Foundation's mission and benefits both to clubs and the communities and countries reached by its grants, and urge members to begin giving or to increase their giving.
Brant, one of the two Fridley High School Student Council members whose expenses for attending a national Student Council conference last summer were defrayed by the club, thanked the club and spoke about her experience.

The first STRIVE field trip is tomorrow, Nov. 21, to Minneapolis Community & Technical College. Contact Steve Klaers at 612-599-8103 if you can accompany. Meet at Columbia Heights High School by 9:15 or Fridley high School by 9:30.
A feature on the club’s STRIVE program is expected to appear in the local newspaper in our service area, Life.
The club board will meet on December 4 at the Fridley Civic Center at 9:00 a.m.
Don Archibeque, who volunteers with the Salvation Army, will line up a bellringing slot for the Christmas season, Info TBA.
Thanks to Kim Hiel, Stephen Keeler, and Steve Klaers for beginning quarterly donations to the Rotary Foundation, and to Norma Jean Falink for substantially increasing her donation.
