ANNOUNCEMENTS

A musical service celebrating the long life and career in music of Henry Charles Smith, spouse of member Norma Jean Falink, was held on Monday, November 22, at Colonial Church of Edina. The service mixed classical selections, including Smith's own recordings with the eulogies of several family members and colleagues, and concluded with celebratory popular pieces. Smith in previous years attended club social events. The service was streamed at https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=colonial+church+of+edina
The club board voted in October to provide a memorial, which, at Norma Jean’s suggestion was a contribution to Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies, which Smith helped found.
Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies (GTCYS) acknowledged our memorial contribution by letter as “a thoughtful way to honor Henry’s life and his dedication to GTCYS.”
Mark and Liz Grotewold, Steve and Vicki Klaers, and Bob and Mary Tholkes attended the service.
