The club met today in the rear dining area of Shortstop, a more open area allowing enhanced social distancing.
 
ANNOUNCEMENTS
 
Thanks to Tim Blank and Craig Malm for volunteering at SACA on July 6, making deliveries.
Mark Grotewold reported that SACA is seeking volunteers to deliver groceries to seniors in our service area. Contact Mark at markandliz1952@yahoo.com if you can volunteer from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on a weekday to make deliveries. Two-person teams are requested. Scott Lund noted that the Fridley Lions Club volunteers for similar work through a Fridley organization.
 
President Kelli Bourgeois announced that 17 members have responded to the survey emailed on July 3. If you have not, please respond by next Wednesday, when the survey will serve as the basis for a club goal-setting session.
 
Secretary Bob Tholkes recognized for perfect attendance (meetings and service projects counted) in 2019-2020 (besides himself) Gordon Backlund and Steve Klaers.
 
Amada Simula noted that she and Kristin Stuenkel have volunteered to serve on the new Rotary District 5960 Equity Inclusion Committee, created to seek ways to attract underrepresented groups to Rotary. Amada will provide progress reports.
 
Tim Blank announced that ways and means to distribute dictionaries this fall to 3rd-graders in our service area are being sought.
 
Greg Schraufnagel announced that enrollment of golfers for the Classic on August 31 has increased to 20. Approximately 60 are needed to cover expenses. The event website, fchgolfclassic.com, is up.
