Meeting Responsibilities December 19: Sergeant At Arms- Gordy Backlund. Invocation- Bob Tholkes
 
 
22 members, visiting Rotarian Bob Freed of Arden Hills-Shoreview Rotary, and guest Chief Lanny Austin of the Columbia Heights Police Department attended on December 12, which featured a club business session.
 
Brian Weierke, subsituting for absent Sergeant At Arms Patty Hand, opened the meeting, noting Wally Wysopal's TV appearance of last week as the Salvation Army Bellringer of the Week, following the club's bellringing at Sam's Club, and then handed off to Past President Wysopal, who was substituting for absent President Josh Lund.
 
Announcements:
 
The club will provide bellringing services for the Salvation Army today and on Dec. 19 at Sam's Club in Fridley. Volunteers are needed- see Wally Wysopal.
 
Steve Klaers reminded that the STRIVE students will participate in the Kids in Need inventory on Saturday, Dec. 15, at its warehouse, 2719 Patton Rd, Roseville. Volunteers for the outing are sought. See Steve Klaers or John Niewald.
 
No meeting on Dec. 26 or on Jan. 2.
 
The Suits & Hearts Benefit Gala is rescheduled for January 19. See suitsandhearts.org for tickets and information.
 
Donations are sought for the Metro North Adult Basic Ed winter clothing distribution program in our service area. They will be accepted all through the winter. They can be brought to the breakfast and  given to Kristen Stuenkel.
 
Patty Halvorson announced that the Lee Carlson Center Chili Cookoff and Beer Tasting will take place on March 1 under a new format in Brooklyn Center, reflecting the Center's expansion to that Hennepin County community. More information to come.
 
“Taste of Fridley”, a fundraiser for the spring Fridley Middle School East Coast Trip, will be held on Friday, March 8, from 6 to 9 pm at Banquets of Minnesota in Fridley.
 
Bob Tholkes announced the receipt of information about the Alexandra House Hope Gala, to take place on March 24. The club board will debate participation at its January meeting.

Wysopal called for nominations to the 2019-2020 club board. President-Elect Weierke  nominated the following slate of candidates:

Secretary- Robert Tholkes
Treasurer- Wally Wysopal
President-Elect- Kelli Bourgeois
Director- Roy Goslin
Director- John Niewald
 
Josh Lund will serve on the board as past president.
 
The club session also approved purchase of a table for 8 at the Fridley Schools Foundation Black & Gold Gala of March 28 at Jax Cafe in Minneapolis. Members wishing to attend at the club's table should contact Tholkes.
 
The club session also approved donations of $1000 to the 2019 Fridley 49er Day Celebration and of $500 to the Arden Hills-Shoreview Rotary Sewing School project in India.
