ANNOUNCEMENTS

Rotary Global Grant Project? The club has completed the first preliminary steps toward engagement in a Rotary Global Grant Project.

Following up on a lead provided by member John Niewald, who has worked on building projects with the non-profit Homes of Hope International, which builds residential housing in several countries, Bob Tholkes made contact with their office in San Diego and through them with a Rotary club in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. The Ensenada club has hosted Global Grant projects with international Rotary partners previously.

Receipt of the Ensenada club’s commitment to participate is expected shortly.

Tholkes is completing our district’s requirement that one current member complete it’s Grant Management Seminar, and the district’s grant coordinator, Margie Horning of Stillwater Sunrise, will pursue selection of a mentor to work on the project should the club’s board approve it at its April 7 meeting.
